About NextGen Playground

We turn curiosity into careers

NextGen Playground is a DG Enterprise initiative on a mission to make world-class, practical tech education accessible to everyone — starting in Cameroon and reaching across Africa and beyond.

Our story

Talented people are everywhere — opportunity isn't. Across Africa, brilliant learners are held back not by ability, but by the cost of training, the lack of hands-on practice, and the absence of mentors who've actually done the work.

NextGen Playground started as a way to fix that: take the exact skills that get people hired in tech — DevOps, Cloud, Web Development, AI — and teach them the way they're actually used. Real tools, real projects, real feedback. No fluff, no gatekeeping.

Today we run two platforms from one mission: NextGen Learn, a completely free, self-paced library of 250+ lessons, and NextGen Academy, a structured, mentor-supported path with real-world projects, cohorts, and certificates for people serious about a career.

Our Mission

Make world-class, practical tech education accessible to everyone — regardless of background, location, or budget.

Our Vision

A generation of African engineers building and shipping technology that competes — and wins — on the world stage.

Our Values

Learn by doing. Lift each other up. Keep the door open. Stay honest about what it really takes to get hired.
